In 1989 he founded Nav Nirman Foundation (New Beginning) in New York City to meet the growing needs of people with Indian-American and Asian origins by starting the first clinic of NNF with governmental grants. He was appointed as an Advisor on the Asian Advisory Board for the New York Police Department. He is still on the Advisory Board of the District Attorney of Queens. 

In 1995 a friend donated Mr Picardo 2 acres of land in the north of Mumbai in Murbad.

With the clinic in NY functioning well, Mr Picardo and his wife Rosemary went back to India to start the Nav Nirman Foundation ( India ), an Ashram for people who suffer from problems, caused by alcohol and /or drugs, mental diseases and other compulsive behaviors and people who are victims of domestic violence, marital problems and child abuse. 

His life mission is to expose the secret of living life to the fullest. He is an unstoppable, creative, loving, lovable, dynamic soul that leads everyone who crosses his path to celebrate life, live with compassion, to have magnificent actions in the now and to be in the present moment, knowing that we can all become a winner in life.
